Jael and Harriet

About the Blog

Hi, I’m Jael; welcome to my book blog! This space is dedicated to the discussion of speculative fiction written by women and other marginalized genders. My goal is to amplify those voices which have traditionally been undervalued. “Speculative fiction” is a very broad literary category which encompasses any works that include elements which do not exist in “real life”. Most of the books that I will discuss also fall under the umbrella of feminist literature. To me, feminist literature generally promotes equity between and shares the experiences of all genders, sexualities, races, and cultures.

This was one of the best books I have ever read.

I loved this book.

I liked this book.

I did not like this book; it just wasn’t for me. I may not have finished it.

I hated this book. There was something extremely wrong with it (e.g., racism, sexism, homophobia, or transphobia).

Review Policy

As you might already know, I only review speculative fiction written by women and other marginalized genders. If this describes you, and you would like me to read your book and write an honest review, feel free to reach out to me! I will try to respond as quickly as possible. QTBIPOC authors have priority, and I only accept e-books in the spirit of environmental awareness. If you usually send physical ARCs, I ask that, when it is published, you donate a copy of the book to a local women’s shelter or LGBTQ resource center.

I post my written reviews on my blog, Instagram, Goodreads, and Amazon.
